Pyloric obstruction
The pylorus is the narrowest part of the digestive tract, with a normal diameter of about 1.5 cm, so it is prone to obstruction. Due to the obstruction of the pylorus, gastric contents cannot enter the intestine smoothly, but are retained in the stomach, resulting in hypertrophy of the gastric wall muscle layer, expansion of the gastric cavity, inflammation, edema and erosion of the gastric mucosa.
