Generalized myxedema
Generalized myxedema, also known as true myxedema, is caused by thyroid dysfunction leading to reduced or deficient thyroid hormone secretion. Clinical manifestations include cretinism, juvenile myxedema, and adult myxedema.

Indication: Antithyroid drugs. Suitable for various types of hyperthyroidism, especially for: ① patients with mild disease and mild to moderate thyroid enlargement ② adolescents, children and elderly patients ③ patients with recurrence after thyroid surgery who are not suitable for radioactive 131I treatment ④ preoperative preparation ⑤ as an adjuvant treatment for 131I radiotherapy.
