Neonatal hypomagnesemia
The normal serum magnesium level of a newborn is 0.8-1.15 mmol/L (1.9-2.8 mg/dl), and the ionized magnesium level is 0.40-0.56 mmol/L (0.97-1.36 mg/dl). Serum magnesium <0.66 mmol/L (1.6 mg/dl) is hypomagnesemia.
