Choroideremia
Choroideremia is also known as total choroidal vascular atrophy, progressive choroidal atrophy or progressive tapetochorordal atrophy. It was first reported by Mauthner in 1872. Initially, the fundus manifestations were different from primary retinal degeneration, and it was considered to be the absence of the choroid. After long-term observation, it was found that the choroid and pigment epithelium were not congenitally dysplastic, but progressively disappeared after birth, so it is also called progressive RPE dystrophy degeneration or progressive RPE choroidal degeneration, but choroideremia is still used in custom. It is characterized by progressive onset of both eyes, night blindness since childhood, diffuse full-thickness choroidal capillaries and RPE atrophy, and finally complete disappearance of the choroid.
