Omental adhesion syndrome
Omental adhesion syndrome refers to a group of syndromes caused by fibrous contracture of the omental tissue adhered to the lower abdominal peritoneum, incision or pelvic cavity during abdominal infection, trauma and postoperative healing, which pulls the transverse colon and causes acute abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, etc. It is also called "postoperative transverse colon dysfunction". This syndrome was first reported by Howitz (1888) and further described in detail by McCann (1941). In China, Cao Shengyu (1954), Wang Hongxu (1965) and Sun Delin (1965) have discussed the diagnosis and treatment of this syndrome, but there have been few reports in the past 30 years.
