Carbon monoxide poisoning
Carbon monoxide poisoning is mostly caused by coal stoves without chimneys or blocked chimneys, or by strong winds blowing into chimneys, causing gas to flow back into the room, or by the lack of ventilation equipment in the room. The smelting workshop is poorly ventilated, and engine exhaust and gunpowder explosions contain a lot of carbon monoxide. The poisoning mechanism is that the affinity of carbon monoxide to hemoglobin is 200 to 300 times higher than the affinity of oxygen to hemoglobin, so carbon monoxide can easily combine with hemoglobin to form carboxyhemoglobin, which loses its oxygen-carrying capacity and causes tissue asphyxiation.
