Transverse vaginal septum
During the embryonic development, if a malfunction occurs, a transverse vaginal septum may form. If the transverse septum occurs in the higher part of the vagina and is partially closed, it may not affect sexual life and pregnancy, but it may affect fetal delivery during childbirth, so a transverse septum incision should be performed during childbirth; if the transverse septum occurs in the lower part of the vagina, it may affect sexual life. If it is completely closed, its symptoms are similar to those of hymen occlusion. Patients should undergo a transverse vaginal septum incision in a timely manner.
