Persistent occipital transverse dystocia
Persistent occipital transverse position is caused by the inability of the fetal position to turn to a normal position during delivery, resulting in delivery difficulties. Persistent occipital transverse position is caused by the fetal head being connected in an occipital transverse position during delivery. During the descent process, when the biparietal diameter of the fetal head reaches or approaches the mid-pelvic plane, most of them can complete the internal rotation movement and turn to an occipital anterior position for natural delivery. In 5% to 10% of cases, the occipital part of the fetal head cannot turn forward until the end of delivery, and remains behind or to the side of the maternal pelvis.
