Suppurative osteomyelitis of skull
Most cases of suppurative skull osteomyelitis are caused by direct infection, such as open skull fracture, craniotomy or skull drilling, infection after skull traction, radiation therapy, skin graft failure, etc., which expose the skull and cause infection. Skull osteomyelitis can occur in any part of the skull, but is most common in the frontal and parietal bones of the skull cap.
