Multiple myeloma nephropathy
Multiple myeloma nephropathy refers to kidney disease caused by myeloma cell infiltration and the large amount of abnormal immunoglobulins produced by them being excreted in the urine. The most common form of multiple myeloma nephropathy is renal tubular cast formation leading to renal failure, so it is also called myeloma cast nephropathy (MCN). The main clinical manifestation is overflow proteinuria, which may lead to chronic or acute renal insufficiency, nephrotic syndrome and Fanconi syndrome.
