Suppurative esophagitis
Pyogenic esophagitis is a purulent inflammation caused by purulent bacteria invading the esophageal mucosa when the esophageal mucosa is damaged. It is often secondary to esophageal foreign bodies or instrumental examinations that cause damage to the esophageal mucosa. Pyogenic esophagitis can be a localized lesion, most of which form one or more submucosal abscesses, which can heal naturally after being drained into the esophageal cavity.
