Ischemic necrosis
The characteristic pathological changes of avascular necrosis are the death of bone cells due to obstructed blood supply. The severity of avascular necrosis depends on the damage to the circulatory system. The femoral head (hip) is the most common site of damage; followed by the knee end of the femur and the humeral head (shoulder). The ankle bone, wrist navicular bone and foot navicular bone are less frequently involved. Avascular necrosis of the femoral head is a disease in which the blood supply to the femoral head is destroyed due to different causes, resulting in femoral head osteonecrosis, resulting in a series of clinical manifestations such as hip pain and limited movement. It can occur in people of all ages and is a very common disease in clinical practice.
