It has no direct effect on the secretion of gastric acid, but it can neutralize or buffer the existing gastric acid in the stomach, which can increase the pH value in the stomach, thereby alleviating the symptoms of excessive gastric acid. Its ability to neutralize acid is lower than that of magnesium-containing preparations and calcium carbonate, but higher than that of aluminum carbonate and sodium dihydroxyaluminum carbonate. In addition, aluminum ions combine with phosphates in the intestine to form insoluble aluminum phosphates, which are excreted from the feces.

The calculated amount of aluminum hydroxide contained in each tablet of this product shall not be less than 0.135g.

This product is white tablets.

It is suitable for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, and reflux esophagitis; it can treat neonatal hypocalcemia (tetany) when used in combination with calcium and vitamin D. Taking large doses of aluminum hydroxide can reduce the absorption of phosphate and alleviate acidemia in patients with uremia.

Adults: Oral administration, 0.6-0.9 g each time (2-3 tablets each time), 3 times a day, 1 hour before meals.

1. It can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and constipation. Long-term use in large doses can cause severe constipation or even intestinal obstruction caused by fecal lumps. 2. Long-term use by the elderly can affect the intestinal absorption of phosphates, leading to osteoporosis. Aluminum salts are deposited in the brain after absorption, which can cause senile dementia. 3. Long-term use by patients with renal failure can cause osteomalacia, encephalopathy, dementia, and microcytic anemia, especially for patients receiving hemodialysis, which can cause dialysis dementia, manifested by symptoms such as muscle pain and convulsions, nervousness or irritability, abnormal taste, slowed breathing, and extreme fatigue and weakness.

In case of appendicitis or acute abdomen, taking this product may aggravate the condition and increase the risk of appendicitis perforation, so it should be prohibited.

1. Avoid taking other drugs within 1 to 2 hours of taking the medicine, as it may combine with aluminum hydroxide to reduce the absorption rate and affect the efficacy; 2. When used with cimetidine and ranitidine, the absorption of the latter can be reduced. It is generally not recommended to use the two drugs together within 1 hour; 3. This product contains polyvalent aluminum ions, which can form complexes with tetracyclines and affect their absorption, so it is not suitable for use together; 4. It can interfere with the absorption or elimination of digoxin, warfarin, dicoumarol, quinine, quinidine, chlorpromazine, propranolol, indomethacin, isoniazid, vitamins and barbiturates through various mechanisms, affecting the efficacy of the above drugs, and should be avoided as much as possible; 5. When used with enteric-coated tablets, the enteric coating can be dissolved faster and it can irritate the stomach and duodenum.
