Pinaverium Bromide Tablets
Function and Efficacy
Pinaverium Bromide Tablets Pinaverium Bromide Deshut-Piweixiu'anpian--Solvay Pharmaceuticals, France--Western medicine digestive system drugs-50mg tablets--Pinaverium Bromide is a calcium antagonist with highly selective antispasmodic effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Its mechanism of action on smooth muscle is the same as other calcium antagonists, but it has a highly selective effect on colon smooth muscle. Pinaverium Bromide blocks the influx of calcium ions into the smooth muscle cells of the intestinal wall and prevents excessive muscle contraction to achieve antispasmodic effect. It can eliminate the high reactivity of intestinal smooth muscle and increase intestinal peristalsis. Pinaverium Bromide has extremely low affinity for cardiovascular smooth muscle cells. A single oral dose of 1200 mg per day will not cause changes in blood pressure. Pinaverium Bromide does not affect the pressure of the lower esophageal cardiac sphincter, nor does it cause duodenal reflux, but it has a relaxing effect on the sphincter of Oddi. In vitro studies have shown that this product has a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on smooth muscle contraction induced by barium chloride, acetylcholine, norepinephrine, carbachol and electrical stimulation. The action of pinaverium bromide in vivo is achieved through the activation of calcium channels. There are two different types of calcium channels on the cell membrane of gastrointestinal smooth muscle: (1) receptor-governed channels, which are activated by changes in the structure of specific membrane-bound receptors; (2) voltage-governed channels, whose opening and closing depend on the membrane potential. In vitro study results show that pinaverium bromide produces antispasmodic effects by blocking voltage-dependent calcium currents.
