Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate Granules

The main ingredient of this product is erythromycin ethylsuccinate.

This product is a granule containing flavoring agent; it tastes sweet and aromatic.

Oral administration: 1.6g per day for adults, divided into 2 to 4 times. For patients with Legionnaires' disease, 0.4 to 1.0g per time, 4 times a day. The daily dose for adults should generally not exceed 4g. To prevent streptococcal infection, 400mg per time, twice a day. For chlamydia or Ureaplasma urealyticum infection, 800mg per time, once every 8 hours, for 7 days; or 400mg per time, once every 6 hours, for 14 days. For children, 7.5 to 12.5mg/kg per time, 4 times a day; or 15 to 25mg/kg per time, 2 times a day; for severe infection, the daily dose can be doubled and taken in 4 times. For children with pertussis, 10 to 12.5mg/kg per time, 4 times a day, for a course of 14 days.

1. Patients who take this product are more likely to experience hepatotoxic reactions than those who take other erythromycin preparations. After taking the drug for several days or 1 to 2 weeks, patients may experience fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, fever, etc. Jaundice may sometimes occur, and liver function tests show cholestasis, which can often be recovered after drug withdrawal. 2. Gastrointestinal reactions include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, pain in the mouth and tongue, decreased appetite, etc., and their incidence is related to the dosage. 3. When large doses (ge;4g/day) are used, especially in patients with liver and kidney diseases or elderly patients, hearing loss may be caused, which is mainly related to excessive blood drug concentration (12mg/L), and most of them can be recovered after drug withdrawal. 4. Allergic reactions are manifested as drug fever, rash, eosinophilia, etc., with an incidence of about 0.5% to 1%. 5. Occasionally arrhythmia

It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product or other erythromycin preparations, patients with chronic liver disease, patients with liver damage and pregnant women.

Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women are prohibited from using this product due to the increased possibility of hepatotoxic reactions. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.
