Function and Efficacy

This product is a second-generation sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drug with a strong effect. Its mechanism is to selectively act on pancreatic islet cells to promote insulin secretion and increase insulin release after eating glucose, so that the production and output of glycogen are inhibited. Indication

Used for type 2 diabetes.

Usage and Dosage

The initial oral dose is 40-80 mg, 1-2 times a day, and then adjusted to 80-240 mg a day, divided into 2-3 doses, depending on the blood sugar level. After blood sugar is controlled, the daily maintenance dose can be changed. Elderly patients can reduce the dose as appropriate.

Adverse Reactions

Occasionally, there may be mild nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, erythema, urticaria, thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia, anemia, etc. Most of them disappear after stopping the drug.

Precautions

1. Patients with impaired liver and kidney function are contraindicated. 2. Patients allergic to sulfonylureas are contraindicated.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Not clear yet. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Animal experiments and clinical observations have shown that sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drugs can cause teratogenesis and are excreted through breast milk, so pregnant women and nursing mothers should not use them. Precautions for the elderly: The dosage should be appropriately reduced.

Drug Interactions

When used in combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (especially salicylates), sulfonamide antibiotics, coumarin anticoagulants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, β-receptor blockers, benzodiazepines, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, dicyclohexine, clofibrate, ethanol and other drugs, the dosage should be reduced to avoid hypoglycemia.
