Harringtonine Injection
Function and Efficacy
Anti-tumor drug. This product is a non-specific drug for the cell cycle, but it has a more obvious effect on the S phase, increasing the number of cells in the G1 phase and reducing the number of cells in the S phase and G2M phase. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the initial stage of protein synthesis, inhibit the activity of DNA polymerase α, lead to a decrease in DNA synthesis, and severely inhibit protein synthesis. This product also has the effects of inducing cell differentiation, increasing cAMP content, and inhibiting glycoprotein synthesis.
Ingredients
The main ingredient of this product is harringtonine, and its chemical name is: [3 (R)]-2-hydroxy-2-(3-(hydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-truncatine succinic acid 4-methyl ester

Adverse Reactions
1. Bone marrow suppression: mainly leukopenia and thrombocytopenia, which is reversible. 2. Gastrointestinal reactions: loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting. 3. Cardiotoxicity: tachycardia, chest tightness, palpitations, occasional arrhythmia, and even heart failure. If atrial flutter occurs, the drug should be stopped immediately. Some cases have myocardial damage. 4. Others: dizziness, fatigue, and local pain at the injection site.
Drug Interactions
1. The dosage and course of treatment of this product should be adjusted when it is used in combination with other anticancer drugs or radiotherapy that may inhibit bone marrow function. 2. Anthracycline antibiotics have myocardial toxicity. Elderly patients and patients who have been repeatedly treated with anthracycline antibiotics such as doxorubicin or daunorubicin should use harringtonine with caution or not at all to avoid increasing cardiotoxicity.
