Tetanus immune globulin
Function and Efficacy
This product contains high-titer tetanus antibodies that can neutralize tetanus toxin, thereby preventing and treating Clostridium tetani infection.
Ingredients
This product is a specific immunoglobulin preparation obtained by immunizing with hepatitis B vaccine and then immunizing with tetanus toxoid to obtain healthy human plasma or serum with high tetanus antibody titer. It contains more than 90% of immunoglobulin G. The tetanus antibody titer per 1ml is not less than 100 units. There are two dosage forms: injection and lyophilized product.
Indication
The strain is made from high-titer plasma or serum collected from healthy blood donors who have been immunized with hepatitis B vaccine and then immunized with tetanus toxoid. It is mainly used to prevent and treat tetanus, especially for those who are allergic to tat. It is suitable for tetanus patients with unclear immunization history and serum allergy, wound infection for more than 24 hours, and tetanus toxoid vaccination but still no immunity. Tetanus toxoid can be injected at the same time or one month later.
Usage and Dosage
1 Only for intramuscular injection in the buttocks, no skin test is required, and intravenous injection is not allowed. 2 The freeze-dried preparation is dissolved in sterile water for injection. 3 Prevention: The dosage for children and adults is 250 units per time. Double the dosage for those with severe wound contamination. 4 Treatment: 3000-6000 units. Tetanus toxoid can also be used for automatic immunization, but the injection site and equipment should be separated. Divide into 3 equal parts and inject into three different sites.
Adverse Reactions
Generally there are no adverse reactions. Very few people experience redness, swelling, and pain, which can recover on their own without special treatment.
Precautions
It is contraindicated for patients with a history of allergy to human immunoglobulin products.

Storage
Liquid preparations should be stored in a dark place at 2-8°C, and lyophilized preparations should be stored in a dry place below 10°C.
