Function and Efficacy
This product is a selective α1 receptor blocker that can reduce peripheral vascular resistance and has a lowering effect on both systolic and diastolic blood pressure; it has the effect of relaxing bladder and prostate smooth muscles and can relieve symptoms of dysuria caused by benign prostatic hypertrophy.
Ingredients
The main ingredient of this product is: terazosin hydrochloride. Its chemical name is: 1-(4-amino-6,7-dimethoxy-2-quinazolinyl)-4-(tetrahydrofuran-2-formyl)piperazine, monohydrochloride dihydrate.

Appearance
This product is a hard capsule, and its contents are white or off-white granules or powder.
Indication
It is used to treat patients with hypertension, and can be used alone or simultaneously with other antihypertensive drugs.
Usage and Dosage
Oral. Hypertensive patients: once a day, first before bedtime. The starting dose is 1 mg, and the dose is gradually increased until a satisfactory effect is achieved. The common dose is 1-10 mg a day, and the maximum dose is 20 mg a day. If treatment needs to be restarted after discontinuation of the drug, the dose must also be gradually increased from 1 mg. Patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia: once a day, 2 mg each time, before bedtime every night.
Adverse Reactions
The main adverse reactions of this product are: headache, dizziness, weakness, palpitations, nausea, postural hypotension, etc. These reactions are usually mild and will disappear on their own with continued treatment. The dosage can be reduced if necessary.
Precautions
It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Not clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Use with caution in pregnant and lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: Pharmacokinetic studies have shown that the recommended dose does not need to be changed when the elderly use this product. Elderly patients are prone to orthostatic hypotension when using terazosin to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Drug Interactions
1. In clinical trials, the proportion of patients who reported dizziness or other related adverse reactions in patients who were treated with this product in combination with angiotensin (ACE) inhibitors and diuretics was higher than the proportion of all patients treated with this product. When this product is used in combination with other antihypertensive drugs, care should be taken to avoid significant hypotension. When this product is added to diuretics or other antihypertensive drugs, the dose should be reduced and re-formulated if necessary. 2. It is known that this product will not interact with analgesics/anti-inflammatory drugs, cardiac glycosides, hypoglycemic drugs, antiarrhythmic drugs, antianxiety drugs/sedatives, antibacterial drugs, hormones/steroids and gout treatment drugs.
