Children's Trimethoprim-Bis-sulfuron Granules

Function and Efficacy

1. Pharmacology: The antibacterial effect of this product on non-enzyme-producing Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Salmonella, Proteus, Morganella, Shigella and other Enterobacteriaceae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Haemophilus influenzae, and Staphylococcus aureus is significantly enhanced compared with SMZ alone. In addition, it also has good antimicrobial activity in vitro, against Chlamydia trachomatis, Nocardia asteroides, protozoa, Toxoplasma, etc. The mechanism of action of this product is that SMZ and SD act on dihydrofolate synthase, interfering with the synthesis of folate reductase. The synthesis of the two can double-block the folic acid metabolism of bacteria. The synergistic antibacterial effect of this product is enhanced compared with a single drug, and the number of strains resistant to it is reduced. However, in recent years, bacterial resistance to this product has also shown an increasing trend. 2. Toxicology: Acute toxicity, chronic toxicity and gastrointestinal irritation tests; the oral LD50 for mice is 1.81 mg/kg; the intraperitoneal injection LD50 for mice is 2.39 mg/g; it has no irritating effect on the gastrointestinal tract of rabbits and mice.
