Flumazenil Injection

Flumazenil is an antagonist of benzodiazepines, which can competitively inhibit the binding of benzodiazepines to receptors to block their central effects.

The main ingredient of this product is flumazenil, whose chemical name is 8-fluoro-5,6-dihydro-5-methyl-6-oxo-4H-imidazo[1,5α][1,4]benzodiazepine-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester. Structural formula: Molecular formula: C15H14FN3O3 Molecular weight: 303.29

This product is a colorless clear liquid.

Reversal of central nervous system sedation and hypnosis caused by benzodiazepines after surgery under general anesthesia.

First dose: Inject 0.2mg (2ml) of flumazenil intravenously within 15 seconds, wake up the patient after 60 seconds, and if the purpose is achieved, no more medication is required. Additional dose: 60 seconds after the first dose, if the patient cannot be awakened, add 0.1mg (1ml), wait another 60 seconds, and then wake up again. Each additional dose of 0.1mg (1ml) can be added, and the total amount should not exceed 1mg.

A small number of patients may experience nausea or vomiting when using the drug. After a rapid injection of flumazenil, they may experience discomfort such as anxiety, palpitations, fear, and transient increases in blood pressure and heart rate. Epileptic patients may experience convulsions, but these adverse reactions usually do not require special treatment.

Precautions during pregnancy and lactation: Not yet clear.

Flumazenil can block the sedative and hypnotic effects of zopiclone, and no interactions with other central nervous system depressants have been found. The pharmacokinetics of benzodiazepines remain unchanged when flumazenil is used.
