Function and Efficacy
Animal experiments show that Schisandra chinensis has an excitatory effect on the nervous system, can restore the brain waves of fatigued rabbits to normal, and prolong the swimming time of rats. Vitamin B1 combines with adenosine triphosphate to form vitamin B1 pyrophosphate (thiamine diphosphate, cocarboxylase), which is a coenzyme necessary for carbohydrate metabolism; vitamin B1 can inhibit the activity of cholinesterase. When it is deficient, the activity of cholinesterase is enhanced, the hydrolysis of acetylcholine is accelerated, and the conduction of nerve impulses is impaired, affecting gastrointestinal and myocardial functions. Glycerol phosphate is a nutrient.
