Flumazenil Injection

Flumazenil is a benzodiazepine receptor antagonist that competitively inhibits the reaction of benzodiazepines with their receptors, thereby specifically blocking their central nervous system effects.

Active ingredient: Flumazenil; Excipients: Disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate, acetic acid, sodium chloride, water for injection. The chemical name of Flumazenil is 8-fluoro-5,6-dihydro-5-methyl-6-oxo-4H-imidazo-[1,5-a][1,4]benzodiazepine-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester.

It can be used clinically for benzodiazepine overdose or poisoning and epileptic seizures after anesthesia.

Intravenous injection: 0.3mg ~ 0.6mg each time.

1. A small number of patients may experience facial flushing, nausea and/or vomiting when taking the drug during anesthesia. After a rapid injection of flumazenil, there may occasionally be discomfort such as anxiety, palpitations, fear, etc. These side effects usually do not require special treatment. 2. In people with a history of epilepsy or severe liver dysfunction, especially in those with a history of long-term use of benzodiazepines or in cases of mixed drug overdose, there have been reports of epileptic seizures with the use of this drug. 3. Flumazenil blocks the effects of non-benzodiazepine drugs such as zopiclone and triazolopyridazines that act via benzodiazepine receptors. The pharmacokinetics of benzodiazepine receptor agonists are not affected by flumazenil, and vice versa. Alcohol does not interact with flumazenil.
