Fluvastatin Sodium Capsules
Function and Efficacy
It is a synthetic HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, which has a significant effect of lowering serum total cholesterol, LDL and serum TG. The cholesterol-lowering effect of this product can be enhanced when used in combination with cholestyramine. It is rapidly and completely absorbed after oral administration. It has a first-pass effect in the liver and is excreted through bile, with a half-life of about 4-7 hours.
Ingredients
Capsules contain 21.06 mg/42.12 mg fluvastatin sodium, equivalent to 20 mg/40 mg fluvastatin free acid.

Appearance
This product is a capsule. The content is off-white to slightly yellow granular powder.
Indication
Hyperlipidemia that cannot be completely controlled by diet.
Usage and Dosage
20-40 mg/day, taken in the evening or before bedtime. When blood lipid concentration is very high, the dose can be increased to 40 mg bid.
Adverse Reactions
Mild and transient indigestion, nausea, abdominal pain, insomnia, headache, abnormal liver function.
Precautions
Patients who are allergic to fluvastatin or certain excipients of lescobalamin, those with active hepatitis or unexplained persistent elevation of serum transaminases (see Precautions), and pregnant women are prohibited from using this product. Lactating women of childbearing age may use this product only if they take adequate contraceptive measures.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Due to the lack of clinical experience in the use of fluvastatin in the age group under 18 years old, this product is not recommended for patients under 18 years old. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. Pregnant women are prohibited from using this product; 2. Women of childbearing age during lactation can only use it if they take adequate contraceptive measures. Precautions for the elderly: Clinical studies have proven that this product is effective and tolerable for patients over 65 years old or younger. The efficacy is enhanced in elderly patients (65 years old) and the tolerability is not reduced. Therefore, there is no need to adjust the dose.
Drug Interactions
Taking this drug 4 hours after taking bile acid sequestrants (cholestyramine) shows a significant additive effect. This drug should be taken at least 4 hours after taking ion exchange resins (such as cholestyramine). Be cautious when used in combination with immunosuppressants, gemfibrozil, niacin and erythromycin. This drug does not affect the metabolism and excretion of antipyrine. When used in combination with rifampicin, the bioavailability of this drug is reduced by about 50%.
