Acyclovir eye drops
Function and Efficacy
This product is a nucleoside antiviral drug that has a selective inhibitory effect on a variety of herpes viruses (HSV). After acyclovir enters HSV-infected cells, it binds to the specific thymidylate kinase encoded by the virus and is rapidly converted into acyclosine monophosphate, which is then converted into acyclosine diphosphate by the cell's guanylate kinase. It is then converted into acyclosine triphosphate by other cell enzymes, and competes with guanylate triphosphate to infect herpes simplex virus DNA polymerase, thereby inhibiting viral DNA synthesis. Acyclovir triphosphate is a very strong viral DNA polymerase inhibitor, and has an inhibitory effect on the DNA polymerases of five human herpes viruses, namely HSV-1, HSV-2, VZV, CMZ and EBV. It has no effect on normal cells, and its antiviral efficacy is 160 times stronger than that of adenosine.

Appearance
This product is a colorless, clear solution.
Indication
This product is mainly used to treat herpes simplex keratitis.
Usage and Dosage
Place 1-2 drops into the eyelids, once every 2 hours.
Adverse Reactions
This product is generally well tolerated after eye drops. The adverse reactions it may cause include burning irritation, conjunctival congestion, superficial punctate keratopathy, follicular conjunctivitis, eyelid allergy and lacrimal punctum obstruction, etc., and the incidence rate is generally low.
Precautions
1. Those who are allergic to this product or have serious complications are prohibited from using it. 2. Pregnant and lactating women should use it with caution.

Drug Interactions
This product competitively inhibits the secretion of organic acids with probenecid. The combined use of probenecid can slow down the excretion of this product, prolong its half-life, and accumulate the amount of drug in the body.
