Miconazole nitrate cream

Function and Efficacy

Miconazole is a synthetic I-phenethylimidazole derivative and a broad-spectrum antifungal drug. It has inhibitory and killing effects on dermatophytes, Candida, Escherichia and other algae, ascomycetes, cryptococci, etc. It also has strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive cocci and bacilli. Miconazole acts on the bacterial cell membrane, changes its permeability, prevents nutrient uptake, and causes its death. This product is slightly soluble in methanol, slightly soluble in chloroform or ethanol, and insoluble in water and ether. Most clinically isolated fungi can be inhibited at concentrations below 4 mg/L. In addition, miconazole is also effective against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Gram-positive cocci, and anthrax.
