Cimetidine for injection

Function and Efficacy

It mainly acts on H2 receptors on parietal cells, competitively inhibiting histamine, inhibiting basal gastric acid secretion, and also inhibiting gastric acid secretion stimulated by food, histamine gastrin, caffeine and insulin. After 300mg injection, 4 to 5 hours later, basal gastric acid secretion can be inhibited by 80%, and 50% of basal gastric acid can be inhibited for 4 to 5 hours.

Appearance

This product is white or off-white loose mass or powder.

Indication

1. Treatment of duodenal ulcer and gastric ulcer that have been clearly diagnosed. 2. Patients with recurrence of duodenal ulcer after short-term treatment. 3. Patients with persistent gastroesophageal reflux disease who are ineffective in anti-reflux measures and single drug treatment such as antacids. 4. Prevention of stress ulcer and bleeding in critically ill patients. 5. Gastrinoma (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome).

Usage and Dosage

1. Intravenous drip. Dissolve this product with 4 ml of 5% glucose injection or 0.9% sodium chloride injection or glucose sodium chloride injection, then dilute to 250-500 ml, and drip intravenously at a drip rate of 1-4 mg/kg per hour, 0.2-0.4 g each time, and 0.6-1.6 g per day. 2. Intravenous injection. Dissolve 0.2 g of this product with 20 ml of the above solution and slowly inject it intravenously (not less than 5 minutes), once every 6 hours, 0.2 g each time. 3. Intramuscular injection. Dissolve 0.2 g of this product with 4 ml of 5% glucose injection or 0.9% sodium chloride injection or glucose sodium chloride injection, and use it, 0.2 g each time, once every 6 hours.

Adverse Reactions

1. Digestive system reactions. Common symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal distension, dry mouth, and mild elevation of serum aminotransferase. Occasionally, severe hepatitis, liver damage, and fatty liver changes are seen. There have been reports of acute pancreatitis caused by the use of this product in both animal experiments and clinical practice. Sudden discontinuation of the drug may lead to perforation of chronic peptic ulcers. 2. Urinary system reactions. There have been reports of acute interstitial nephritis leading to failure, but this toxic reaction is reversible. 3. Hematopoietic system reactions. It has a certain inhibitory effect on the bone marrow. A small number of patients have reversible moderate leukopenia or granulocytopenia. 4. Central nervous system reactions. It can pass through the blood-brain barrier and has certain neurotoxicity. Common symptoms include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and drowsiness.

Precautions

1. Pregnant and lactating women are prohibited from using this product. 2. People who are allergic to this product are prohibited from using this product.

Drug Interactions

1. When used in combination with antacids, it can relieve pain in duodenal ulcers, but the absorption of cimetidine may be reduced, so it is generally not recommended. 2. When used in combination with sucralfate, this product may reduce the efficacy of sucralfate (because sucralfate needs to be hydrolyzed by gastric acid to work). It can aggravate sedation and other central nervous system depression symptoms, and may develop into respiratory and circulatory failure. If it must be used in combination with antacids, the two should be separated by at least 1 hour. 3. When used in combination with coumarin anticoagulants, the prothrombin time can be further prolonged, so it is necessary to pay close attention to changes in the condition and adjust the dosage of anticoagulants. 4.
