The main ingredient of this product is metformin hydrochloride, and its chemical name is 1,1-dimethylbiguanide hydrochloride.

This product is a film-coated tablet, which appears off-white or white after removing the coating.

It is suitable for patients with type 2 diabetes who cannot be well controlled by diet and exercise alone. This product can be used alone or in combination with sulfonylureas or insulin.

Oral administration, during or after meals. The initial dosage is usually once a day, 1 tablet (500 mg) at a time, taken at dinner, and the dosage is adjusted according to blood sugar and urine sugar. The maximum daily dose does not exceed 4 tablets (2000 mg). If once a day, 4 tablets (2000 mg) each time cannot achieve satisfactory therapeutic effects, it can be changed to twice a day, 2 tablets (1000 mg) each time.

Some patients experience gastrointestinal discomfort after taking this product orally, such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, as well as dizziness, headache, flu-like symptoms, abnormal taste, muscle pain, hypotension, palpitations, flushing, chills, chest discomfort, rash, weakness, tiredness, etc.

This product is contraindicated in patients with type 2 diabetes accompanied by ketoacidosis, liver and kidney dysfunction, heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, severe infection and trauma, major surgery, clinical hypotension and hypoxia, a history of lactic acidosis, and those who are allergic to this product.

Precautions for children: Not clear yet. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: There are no adequate and strictly controlled clinical studies in pregnant women, and the efficacy and safety of this product in pregnant women are not clear yet, so pregnant women are prohibited from using this product. Metformin can be excreted through breast milk, so this product is prohibited for lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: Elderly patients will experience physiological decline in renal function with age, so it is necessary to pay attention to the choice of dosage and regular examination of renal function. Elderly patients should generally not receive the maximum dose of this product. This product should not be used for elderly patients over 80 years old unless their creatinine clearance shows that their renal function is indeed not reduced.

Furosemide increases the serum and whole blood drug concentrations of metformin, but does not change the renal clearance rate of metformin. 5. Nifedipine can increase the absorption of metformin and increase the excretion in urine, but does not affect Tmax and half-life.
