Para-aminosalicylic acid isoniazid tablets
Function and Efficacy
Pharmacology: This product is a chemical compound of isoniazid (1NH) and para-aminosalicylic acid (PAS). INH is mainly effective against mycobacteria in the growth and reproduction period. Its mechanism of action has not yet been elucidated, and it may inhibit the synthesis of mycolic acid (myolic acid) of sensitive bacteria and cause cell wall rupture. PAS effectively delays and blocks the acetylation process of INH in the body. Therefore, this product can maintain a higher and longer INH concentration in the blood and reduce liver toxicity. After taking equal amounts of INH and this product, it was found that the INH blood concentration was only 0.03 mg/L in 12 hours, while this product still had 2.6 mg/L. The INH blood concentration was 0 in 14 hours, while this product was still as high as 2 mg/L, which was twice the MIC. This not only enhances the bactericidal effect of the drug, but also delays the development of bacterial resistance. Clinically, it has been confirmed that in combined treatment with other anti-tuberculosis drugs, the anti-tuberculosis efficacy of this product is significantly better than that of INH; and the incidence of adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal reactions, liver function damage and low white blood cells is significantly lower than that of INH. Animal tests show that the anti-tuberculosis efficacy of this crystal is about 5 times that of INH in artificially infected mice, and the therapeutic effect of this crystal at 10 mg/kg per day is significantly better than the physical mixture of INH (20 mg/kg per day) and PAS (200 mg/kg per day). Toxicology: The oral LDso of this product in mice and rabbits is 0.4g/kg and 0.8-1.6g/kg, which is twice that of INH respectively.
