Simple spinal tuberculosis
Spinal tuberculosis ranks first among all bone and joint tuberculosis in the body, among which vertebral tuberculosis accounts for the majority, and adnexal tuberculosis is very rare. The vertebral body is mainly composed of cancellous bone, which bears heavy loads and high stress. The nutrient arteries of the vertebral body are mostly terminal arteries, and tuberculosis bacteria easily stay in the vertebral body. In the entire spine, the lumbar spine has the greatest mobility and the highest incidence of lumbar tuberculosis, followed by the thoracic spine and the cervical spine. As for sacral and coccygeal tuberculosis, it is very rare. This disease is more common in children, and the incidence rate of people over 30 years old is significantly reduced.
