Function and Efficacy
It has lipid-lowering and anti-atherosclerotic effects. Qiju Dihuang Pills can reduce the levels of serum triglycerides, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, and very high-density lipoprotein in rabbits with hyperlipidemia, and increase the content of serum high-density lipoprotein; it can reduce the thickness and area of atherosclerotic plaques in rabbit models with hyperlipidemia, and inhibit the formation of lipid plaques in the aortic intima. It has an antioxidant effect. Qiju Dihuang Pills can reduce the content of lipid peroxides in the blood of D-galactose-induced cataract guinea pig models, increase the activity of superoxide dismutase in the blood, and increase the activity of glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase in the lens. It increases the activity of catalase in the eye tissue of normal mice and reduces the content of malondialdehyde. It has an immune-enhancing effect. Qiju Dihuang Pills can increase the percentage of acidic α-naphthyl acetate esterase-positive lymphocytes in the peripheral blood and the number of spleen antibody-forming cells in young and old mice.

Usage and Dosage
