Function and Efficacy
Dextromethorphan hydrobromide in this product is a central antitussive. It suppresses cough by inhibiting the medullary cough center. Its antitussive effect is equal to or slightly stronger than codeine, and it has no analgesic effect or addiction. Guaifenesin is a nauseating expectorant. After oral administration, the chemical stimulation of the gastric mucosa can reflexively cause increased bronchial secretion, reduce the viscosity of sputum, and make sputum easier to discharge, thereby producing an expectorant and antitussive effect. It also has a slight antiseptic effect. Methylephedrine hydrochloride can directly stimulate adrenaline receptors, and can also indirectly stimulate adrenaline receptors by promoting the release of norepinephrine from adrenergic nerve endings. It has an stimulating effect on both alpha receptors and beta receptors. It can dilate bronchi and constrict local blood vessels, and its action time is longer; it strengthens myocardial contractility, increases cardiac output, and makes venous return to the heart sufficient; it has a stronger central nervous system excitation effect than adrenaline. Chlorpheniramine maleate counteracts the allergic effect of histamine by antagonizing H1 receptors. This product does not affect histamine metabolism or prevent the release of histamine in the body. In addition, it has anti-M-choline receptor and central inhibition effects. The central excitatory effect of methylephedrine can be offset by chlorpheniramine.

Appearance
This product is a light brown clear liquid with a spicy and aromatic odor.
Indication
Antitussive and expectorant. Used for allergic cough, bronchitis caused by cold, bronchial congestive cough, asthma and other respiratory symptoms.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration. Adults take 10 ml at a time, 3 times a day
Adverse Reactions
Symptoms include dizziness, headache, drowsiness, irritability, belching, lack of appetite, constipation, nausea, skin allergies, etc. These reactions may disappear on their own after stopping the drug. Overdose may cause unconsciousness, bronchospasm, and respiratory depression.
Precautions
Pregnant women are prohibited from using it during the first 3 months.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Not clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Not suitable for women in the first 3 months of pregnancy. Precautions for the elderly: Use with caution in elderly patients.
