Ursodeoxycholic acid capsules

Ursodeoxycholic acid accounts for a small part of human bile. After oral administration of ursodeoxycholic acid, the cholesterol saturation in bile is reduced by inhibiting the reabsorption of cholesterol in the intestine and reducing the secretion of cholesterol into bile. Cholesterol stones are gradually dissolved, probably due to the dispersion of cholesterol and the formation of liquid crystals. According to existing knowledge, the treatment of liver and cholestatic diseases with ursodeoxycholic acid capsules is mainly based on the relative replacement of lipophilic, detergent-like toxic bile acids by hydrophilic, cytoprotective and non-cytotoxic ursodeoxycholic acid, as well as the promotion of hepatocyte secretion and immunomodulation.

The chemical name is: 3α,7β-dihydroxy-5β-cholestane-24-oic acid.

For the treatment of: 1. Cholestatic liver disease, including chronic liver disease with intrahepatic cholestasis, primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC); 2. Cholesterol stones; 3. Chronic hepatitis C; 4. Bile reflux gastritis; 5. Rejection of allogeneic organ transplantation; 6. Biliary pancreatitis;

1. Steroid gallstones and cholestatic liver disease: Take with a small amount of water on time. Take 10 mg/kg per body weight for lithotripsy treatment: generally takes 6 to 24 months. If the stones do not get smaller after 12 months of use, stop taking the medicine. The treatment results are determined by ultrasound or X-ray examination every 6 months. 2. Bile reflux gastritis: Swallow with water before going to bed at night. It must be taken regularly, one pill (250 mg) at a time, once a day. Generally take it for 10 to 14 days, and follow the doctor's advice to decide whether to continue taking the medicine.

1. It is contraindicated for patients with acute cholecystitis and cholangitis; it is contraindicated for patients with bile duct obstruction (common bile duct and cystic duct); ursodeoxycholic acid capsules should not be used if the gallbladder cannot be seen under X-ray, the gallstones are calcified, the gallbladder cannot contract normally, and there is frequent biliary colic; 2. It should be used with caution in elderly patients; 3. It is contraindicated in the first three months of pregnancy.

Precautions during pregnancy and lactation: Do not use during the first three months of pregnancy. Precautions for the elderly: Use with caution in elderly patients.

Ursodeoxycholic acid capsules should not be taken at the same time as drugs such as cholestyramine (cholestyramine), colestipol (colestipol), aluminum hydroxide and/or aluminum hydroxide-magnesium trisilicate, because these drugs can bind to ursodeoxycholic acid in the intestine, thereby hindering absorption and affecting efficacy. If the above drugs must be taken, ursodeoxycholic acid capsules should be taken two hours before or two hours after taking the drug. Ursodeoxycholic acid capsules can increase the absorption of cyclosporine in the intestine. Patients taking cyclosporine should monitor the serum concentration of cyclosporine and adjust the dose of cyclosporine if necessary. In some cases, taking ursodeoxycholic acid capsules can reduce the absorption of ciprofloxacin.
