Econazole nitrate cream

This product is an azole antifungal drug and a dechlorinated derivative of miconazole. This product has antibacterial effects on Candida, Chromatiaceae, Coccidioides, Histoplasma, Sporothrix, etc., and also has antibacterial activity against Trichophyton, etc. This product has poor effects on Aspergillus, Sporothrix Schenckii, some dark-colored spores, Mucor, etc. This product inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol, the main steroid of fungal cell membrane, by interfering with the activity of cytochrome P-450, damaging the fungal cell membrane and changing its permeability, resulting in leakage of important intracellular substances. This product can inhibit the biosynthesis of triglycerides and phospholipids of fungi, inhibit the activity of oxidases and peroxidases, cause the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide in cells, and lead to cell submicrostructure degeneration and cell necrosis. For Candida albicans, it can inhibit the process of transformation from spores to invasive hyphae.

This product is a milky white ointment with an emulsion base.

This product is suitable for the treatment of skin candidiasis; it can also be used to treat tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, tinea versicolor, etc.

Topical application: For skin candidiasis and various tinea, apply once in the morning and evening each day, for 2 to 4 weeks; for tinea versicolor, apply once a day.

Some patients experience local irritation and occasionally allergic reactions, manifested as burning sensation, itching, tingling, congestion, etc.

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.
