Function and Efficacy
This product is a dopamine-like anti-Parkinson's disease drug. Levodopa is a precursor substance for synthesizing dopamine in the body. It has no pharmacological activity itself. It enters the central nervous system through the blood-brain barrier and is converted into dopamine by dopa decarboxylase to exert its pharmacological effects and improve the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Since this product can increase neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, it can also improve the brain's tolerance to ammonia, and is used to treat hepatic coma, improve central nervous system function, make patients sober, and improve symptoms.

Indication
Used for Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's syndrome.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration starts with 250 mg once, 2 to 4 times a day, after meals. Depending on the patient's tolerance, the dose can be increased every 3 to 7 days, with the increase range being 125 to 750 mg per day, until the optimal therapeutic effect is achieved. The maximum daily dose is 6 g, divided into 4 to 6 doses. The dose should be reduced for patients with post-encephalitis and the elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Common adverse reactions include: nausea, vomiting, orthostatic hypotension, abnormal involuntary movements of the head, face, tongue, upper limbs and upper body, depression, and dysuria. Less common adverse reactions include: hypertension, arrhythmia, and hemolytic anemia.
Precautions
It is contraindicated for patients with severe mental illness, severe arrhythmia, heart failure, glaucoma, peptic ulcer and a history of convulsions.
Drug Interactions
1. This product combined with non-selective monoamine oxidase inhibitors may cause acute adrenal crisis. 2. This product combined with papaverine or vitamin B6 may reduce the efficacy of this product. 3. This product combined with acetylspiramycin can significantly reduce the blood concentration of this product and weaken the efficacy. 4. This product combined with reserpine can inhibit the effect of this product and should be avoided. 5. This product combined with antipsychotic drugs should be avoided because the two antagonize each other. 6. This product combined with methyldopa can increase the adverse reactions of this product and enhance the antihypertensive effect of methyldopa.
