Mild to moderate acute thrombotic cerebral infarction.
Adverse Reactions
A total of 645 patients entered the Phase II and III clinical trials of urinary kallidinol for the treatment of acute cerebral infarction, including 462 patients in the trial group (urinary kallidinol group). Four serious adverse events occurred in the trial group, including two deaths (one was a 75-year-old patient with right cerebellar hemisphere infarction accompanied by lacunar infarction in the basal ganglia, and the cause of death was determined to be cerebellar infarction complicated by brain herniation; the other was a 70-year-old patient with right fronto-parietal-temporal infarction, and the cause of death was determined to be sudden cardiac death). It was judged to be unrelated to the study drug. In the other two cases, the first injection of the trial drug (both within 10 minutes of the start of medication) caused a sudden drop in blood pressure accompanied by impaired consciousness. After the drug was immediately stopped and pressor drugs were given, the blood pressure quickly recovered without adverse consequences, and it was determined to be related to the medication. A total of 9 important adverse events occurred in the Phase III clinical trial, including 4 cases of infarction within the infarct focus.
