This product can be administered by intrathecal injection at the same time when used for Pseudomonas aeruginosa meningitis or ventriculitis; it can be inhaled by aerosol as an adjuvant therapy when used for bronchial and pulmonary infections. Tobramycin is ineffective for most group D streptococcal infections. It is effective for eye bacterial infections such as conjunctivitis and keratitis, especially for gentamicin-resistant Gram-negative stalk bacteria infections, such as severe Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections.
