Cefuroxime Axetil Capsules

Function and Efficacy

Cefuroxime axetil is a prodrug of cefuroxime. The mechanism of action of cefuroxime is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, so that bacteria cannot grow and reproduce. Cefuroxime has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, and has a strong antibacterial effect on Streptococcus pyogenes, Pneumococcus, Staphylococcus aureus methicillin-sensitive bacteria, Moraxella catarrhalis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Haemophilus influenzae. It has a good effect on Enterobacteriaceae such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Proteus, but Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, and Enterococci are resistant.
