Azlocillin sodium
Function and Efficacy
This product has a wider antibacterial spectrum than ampicillin and carbenicillin. It has high activity against both Gram-positive bacteria (including anaerobic cocci and bacilli) and Gram-negative bacteria. Comparative studies have shown that its antibacterial effect is 7 to 10 times stronger than carbenicillin against mouse infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa; 2 to 15 times stronger against Escherichia coli; 8 times stronger against Klebsiella pneumoniae, and 2 times stronger against hemolytic Streptococcus.
Indication
It can be used clinically for sensitive Gram-positive or Gram-negative bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract, urinary tract, biliary tract, and gynecological infections. It can also be used for postoperative infections and ENT infections, all with good therapeutic effects.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic reactions are common. Allergy tests should be performed before use. Patients allergic to penicillin should not use this drug. There is mild or temporary neutropenia. A few patients may experience temporary elevation of serum aminotransferase. Patients with renal insufficiency may experience bleeding and purpura. Precautions
Contraindicated in patients allergic to penicillin.
