Function and Efficacy
Pharmacological action: The bactericidal mechanism of metronidazole is not very clear. It may be that its nitro group is reduced to a cytotoxic substance, which acts on the DNA metabolism of bacteria to kill them. Metronidazole is active against protozoa such as Trichomonas vaginalis, Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia; it also has antibacterial effects on anaerobic bacteria (including Bacteroides and other fusobacteria), Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus, Clostridium, etc. Aerobic bacteria and facultative aerobic bacteria such as Arachnida, Propionibacterium and Actinomycetes are resistant to metronidazole. Animal experiments in toxicological studies have shown that metronidazole has the potential to cause cancer and teratogenesis.

Appearance
This product is light green irregular tablets with aromatic odor and sweet taste.
Indication
Used for the auxiliary treatment of mild and moderate periodontitis and pericoronitis caused by sensitive anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides fragilis, Clostridium, Porphyromonas gingivalis, anaerobic Streptococcus, and melanin-producing Bacteroides.
Usage and Dosage
For oral topical use, 1 tablet each time, each retention time in the mouth is 20 to 30 minutes, 4 times a day, for 3 to 6 consecutive days. Or follow the doctor's advice.
Adverse Reactions
Adverse reactions are rare and mild. A small number of patients may have the following reactions: 1. Changes in taste, such as a metallic taste, bitter taste, dry mouth, and irritation of the oral mucosa; 2. Gastrointestinal reactions, such as mild nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, and decreased appetite; 3. Allergic reactions, such as rash, urticaria, itching, etc.; 4. Precautions
It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product or azole drugs, as well as those with central nervous system diseases and blood diseases.

Precautions for children: Same as adults. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women are prohibited. Precautions for the elderly: Same as adults.
