Triamcinolone acetonide econazole cream

Function and Efficacy

Econazole nitrate in this product is an antifungal drug, which has antibacterial activity against dermatophytes, molds and yeasts (such as Candida), and is also effective against some Gram-positive bacteria. Triamcinolone acetonide is a glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and anti-allergic effects.

Ingredients

This product is a compound preparation, containing 10 mg of econazole nitrate and 1.0 mg of triamcinolone acetonide per gram. The excipients are: polyoxyethylene-7-stearate, polyoxyethylene-5-oleate, liquid paraffin, benzoic acid, disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate, butylated hydroxyanisole and purified water.

Appearance

This product is a white cream.

Indication

1. Dermatitis and eczema accompanied by fungal infection or with a tendency to fungal infection; 2. Inflammatory skin fungal diseases caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and molds, such as tinea manuum, tinea corporis, tinea cruris and tinea versicolor; 3. Diaper dermatitis; 4. Candidal angular cheilitis; 5. Paronychia; 6. Mixed skin infections caused by fungi and bacteria.

Usage and Dosage

For topical use. Apply an appropriate amount of this product to the affected area once a day in the morning and evening. For the treatment of dermatitis and eczema, the course of treatment is 2-4 weeks. The treatment of inflammatory fungal diseases should continue until the inflammatory reaction subsides, and the course of treatment should not exceed 4 weeks.

Adverse Reactions

1. Local allergic reactions are occasionally seen, such as skin burning, itching, and tingling. 2. Long-term use may cause skin atrophy, capillary dilation, pigmentation, and secondary infection. 3. The safety of this product was evaluated through four clinical studies involving 182 subjects. In the trial, the adverse reactions of adults using this product included skin burning and skin irritation (the incidence rate was 1.6%), and no other adverse reactions were reported. The safety of this product was evaluated through a clinical trial involving 101 children. In the trial, the adverse reactions of children using this product included erythema (the incidence rate was 1.0%), and no other adverse reactions were reported. 4. Extremely rare adverse reactions after marketing include pain at the medication site, swelling at the medication site, contact dermatitis, peeling, abnormal skin texture, and erythema.

Precautions

1. It is contraindicated for people with skin tuberculosis, syphilis or viral infections (such as herpes, vaccinia, chickenpox). 2. It is contraindicated for people who are known to be allergic to any ingredient of this product.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Children must use under adult supervision. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women should use under the guidance of a physician. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.

Drug Interactions

If used with other drugs at the same time, drug interactions may occur. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist for details. Econazole is known to be a CYP3A4/2C9 inhibitor. However, due to limited systemic absorption after skin administration, clinically relevant interactions are rare, but there have been reports of oral anticoagulants. Patients using oral anticoagulants such as warfarin or coumarin acetate should use it with caution and monitor the anticoagulant effect.
