Neostigmine Methylsulfate Injection
Function and Efficacy
This product exerts a complete cholinergic effect by inhibiting the activity of cholinesterase. In addition, it can directly stimulate the nicotinic receptors (N2 receptors) on the motor end plates of skeletal muscles. Its action characteristics are that it has a weak effect on glandular, eye, cardiovascular and bronchial smooth muscles, and can promote gastric contraction and increase gastric acid secretion on gastrointestinal smooth muscles, and promote the peristalsis of the small and large intestines, especially the colon, thereby preventing intestinal relaxation and promoting the downward movement of intestinal contents. This product has a strong excitatory effect on skeletal muscles, but a weak effect on the central nervous system.
