Famotidine injection

This product is a histamine H2 receptor blocker. It has a significant inhibitory effect on gastric acid secretion, and can also inhibit the secretion of pepsin, and has a certain protective effect on animal experimental ulcers. It takes effect about 1 hour after taking the medicine, and the effect can last for more than 12 hours.

The main ingredient of this product is famotidine.

This product is a colorless to slightly yellow clear liquid.

Upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by peptic ulcer, and bleeding from gastric and duodenal mucosal erosion caused by various reasons other than tumors and esophageal and gastric fundus varices.

1. This product is used when gastric acid secretion must be reduced in patients with peptic ulcer complicated by upper gastrointestinal bleeding or gastric and duodenal mucosal erosion and bleeding, but oral administration is not suitable. 2. This product is diluted with 250ml of 5% glucose and intravenously dripped for more than 30 minutes, or 20ml of normal saline is slowly injected intravenously (not less than 3 minutes). Twice a day (12 hours apart), the course of treatment is 5 days. Once the condition permits, intravenous medication should be quickly changed to oral administration.

Common adverse reactions include headache, dizziness, constipation and diarrhea. The following adverse reactions are occasionally seen: 1. Allergic reactions: facial edema, rash, rash, urticaria (erythema) and other symptoms rarely occur. When these symptoms occur, the drug should be discontinued and medical attention should be sought; 2. Systemic reactions: fever, weakness, fatigue; 3. Cardiovascular: increased blood pressure, facial redness, tinnitus, etc.; 4. Gastrointestinal tract: biliary jaundice, abnormal transaminase, vomiting, nausea, abdominal discomfort, anorexia, dry mouth; 5. Hematopoietic system: rare types of hematopoietic cell reduction, granulocytopenia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia; 6. Nervous system: hallucinations, confusion, restlessness, depression, anxiety, decreased activity, paresthesia, insomnia, drowsiness.

It is contraindicated for people who are allergic to this product, those with severe renal insufficiency, and pregnant or lactating women.

Precautions for children: The safety of the drug for children has not been established, so it is not recommended for children. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women and lactating women are prohibited from using this drug, or follow the doctor's advice. Precautions for the elderly: This drug is mainly excreted through the kidneys. Because elderly patients often have low renal function, the drug concentration in the blood will accumulate, so the dosage should be reduced or the dosing interval should be extended.

This product does not interact with liver cytochrome P450 enzymes, so it does not affect the metabolism of drugs such as theophylline, phenytoin, warfarin and diazepam, nor does it affect the body distribution of procainamide, etc. However, probenecid will inhibit the excretion of famotidine from the renal tubules.
