Function and Efficacy
This product has the functions of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, relieving restlessness and calming the nerves, and nourishing and strengthening the body. The main drug, Danshen, is made into an injection (each milliliter contains 1 gram of the equivalent raw drug) 0.3 and 0.4 ml, which has the effect of dilating the coronary arteries of the isolated hearts of guinea pigs and rabbits, and slowing down the heart rate. The heart contraction force is first briefly inhibited, and then gradually increases. Experiments on isolated guinea pig hearts and anesthetized cats have proved that Danshen does not have the effect of blocking beta;-adrenergic receptors. The decoction has an inhibitory effect on isolated and in vivo toad hearts, and causes atrioventricular block. The injection can produce a hypotensive effect on anesthetized cats and rabbits, and this effect can be blocked by atropine. It has only a short and weak dilation effect on the isolated rabbit ear blood vessels. The decoction also shows a hypotensive effect on rabbits and dogs, and has a vasodilation effect in toad systemic perfusion and isolated rabbit ear experiments. Continuous oral administration of Danshen decoction to rabbits for 1 or 10 days had no effect on the T wave increase caused by posterior pituitary hormone, but it could cause a rapid recovery, suggesting that it can shorten the duration of myocardial ischemia.
