Pamidronate Disodium Injection
Function and Efficacy
This drug is an inhibitor of osteoclast osteolysis. It binds to hydroxyapatite crystals and inhibits the formation and dissolution of these crystals in vitro. The inhibition of osteoclast osteolysis in vivo is at least partly due to the attachment of these substances to the mineral bone matrix. This drug can be firmly adsorbed on the surface of trabeculae to form a protective film that prevents osteoclast precursor cells from adsorbing to bones and subsequently being transformed into mature osteoclasts. In most patients with hypercalcemia, this drug improves glomerular filtration rate and reduces serum creatinine levels by lowering serum calcium levels.
Ingredients
The chemical name of this product is disodium aminopropyl diphosphate, which is disodium-3-amino-hydroxypropyl-1,1-diphosphate pentahydrate. It also contains mannitol as an excipient.

Bone lesions of Paget's disease and osteoporosis caused by various reasons
Usage and Dosage
The general dosage for adults and elderly patients is 30-90 mg added to 250-500 mL of 0.9% saline or 5% glucose, and intravenously dripped for more than 1-4 hours. The total amount of treatment for a course of treatment depends on the patient's serum calcium level before treatment.
Adverse Reactions
Sometimes transient flu-like symptoms occur, usually 3-24 hours after infusion, lasting 24 hours, and rarely reoccur when infused again. In addition, fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, gastrointestinal reactions such as anorexia, abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhea may also occur. Occasionally, allergic reactions and local reactions at the intravenous infusion site may occur. Lymphocytopenia, thrombocytopenia and hypocalcemia may occur.
