Flucytosine Tablets

1 This product is an antifungal drug. It has high antibacterial activity against Cryptococcus, Candida and Torulopsis. It has certain antibacterial activity against pigmented fungi and a few Aspergillus species, but poor antibacterial activity against other fungi. 2 This product is an antibacterial agent and has a bactericidal effect at high concentrations. Its mechanism of action is that the drug enters the cell through the permease system of the fungal cell and is converted into fluorouracil. It replaces uracil and enters the fungal deoxyribonucleic acid, thereby blocking the synthesis of nucleic acids. Fungi are prone to develop resistance to this product, and fungal resistance can be found in a long course of treatment.

5-Fluorocytosine, its chemical name is 5-fluoro-4-amino-2(1H)-pyrimidinone.

This product is white tablets.

Antifungal drug. Used for Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans infections.

Take orally 1.0-1.5g once, 4 times a day. To avoid or reduce nausea and vomiting, take the medicine for 15 minutes each time. Or follow the doctor's advice.

1. This product may cause gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, etc. 2. Allergic reactions such as rash and eosinophilia. 3. Hepatotoxic reactions may occur, generally manifested as a transient increase in serum aminotransferase, occasionally increased serum bilirubin, and hepatomegaly is very rare. 4. It may cause leukopenia or thrombocytopenia, occasionally pancytopenia, bone marrow suppression and aplastic anemia. The combined use of amphotericin B is more common than the use of this product alone. The occurrence of this adverse reaction is related to excessive blood drug concentration. 5. Temporary neuropsychiatric abnormalities may occasionally occur, manifested as mental confusion, hallucinations, disorientation, headache, dizziness, etc.

It is contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency or allergic to this product.
