Function and Efficacy
This product decalcifies to form polycarbophil under the acidic conditions in the stomach. It shows high water absorption in the neutral environment of the small intestine or large intestine, swells into a gel, retains moisture in the digestive tract, and regulates the transport of digestive tract contents, thereby playing a therapeutic role in constipation.
Ingredients

Appearance
This product is white capsule-shaped tablets.
Indication
It is used for constipation, such as chronic constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal diverticular disease, and constipation in pregnant women, the elderly, and patients in the convalescent period. It can also be used for watery diarrhea.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration. The usual dosage for adults is 2 tablets (1.0g) at a time, 3 times a day. Take with plenty of water after meals. The general course of treatment does not exceed 2 weeks.
Adverse Reactions
1. Common (1% to 10%, including 1%) and occasional (0.1% to 1%, including 0.1%) adverse reactions that may occur with this product mainly include: adverse reactions of the digestive system (such as belching, vomiting, thirst, abdominal distension, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, bowel sounds, etc.); allergic reactions (such as rash, itching, etc.); adverse reactions of the blood system (such as leukopenia); abnormal liver and kidney function [such as increased serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), serum aspartate aminotransferase, occult blood in urine, positive urine protein], in addition to edema and headache. 2. In the pre-marketing clinical trials completed in Japan with 751 subjects, 54 cases (7.19%) had adverse reactions, including 13 cases (1.73%) of nausea and vomiting, and 10 cases (1.33%) of rash.
Precautions
It is contraindicated in patients with intestinal obstruction or fecal impaction, or patients with dysphagia.

Precautions for children: The safety of this product for children has not been confirmed, so it is not recommended. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: The safety of this product for pregnant women has not been confirmed. For pregnant women or women who are preparing for pregnancy, this product can only be taken when the benefits of treatment far outweigh the risks. Precautions for the elderly: In general, most elderly people have low renal function and are prone to hypercalcemia. When using this product, the dosage should be reduced or adjusted.
Drug Interactions
1. Active vitamin D preparations (such as alphacalcidol and calciferol) will promote intestinal calcium absorption, and hypercalcemia may occur when used in combination with this product. 2. Calcium preparations (such as calcium L-aspartate, calcium lactate, etc.) used in combination with this product will lead to excessive calcium intake, and cause the product to recombine with calcium ions in a decalcified state, thereby weakening the efficacy of this product. 3. This product can enhance the effects of cardiac glycosides such as digoxin, leading to arrhythmia. 4. This product can form chelates with tetracycline antibiotics (tetracycline, minocycline, etc.) and quinolone antibiotics (norfloxacin, pefloxacin hydrochloride, tosufloxacin tosylate, etc.), affecting the absorption of antibiotics and reducing their efficacy. 5.
