Ornidazole Capsules

This product is active against both protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. It is active against protozoa such as amoeba, giardia and trichomonas. It is effective against most anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides fragilis, Bacteroides melaninus, other Bacteroides, Eubacterium, Fusobacterium, Clostridium, Peptococcus, and Peptostreptococcus.

The main ingredient of this product is ornidazole.

This product is a hard capsule, and the contents are white or slightly yellow granules.

This product is suitable for infections caused by sensitive protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. 1. For male and female urogenital tract infections caused by Trichomonas. 2. For intestinal and hepatic amoebiasis caused by amoeba (including amoebic dysentery and amoebic liver abscess). 3. For giardiasis. 4. For anaerobic infections: such as sepsis, meningitis, peritonitis, postoperative wound infection, postpartum sepsis, septic abortion, endometritis and other infections caused by sensitive bacteria. 5. For the prevention of various postoperative anaerobic infections.

1 Trichomoniasis: Acute trichomoniasis: One-time medication, 1500 mg (6 tablets) for adults, taken at night. Children 25 mg/kg/day, taken once. Chronic trichomoniasis: 500 mg (2 tablets) for adults, twice a day, for five days. Sexual partners should be given the same treatment to avoid repeated infection. 2 Amebiasis: Amoebic dysentery: Adults and children weighing more than 35 kg, 1500 mg (6 tablets) each time, taken after dinner, for three consecutive days; those weighing more than 60 kg, 1000 mg (4 tablets) each time, twice a day, orally after meals, for three consecutive days; children weighing less than 35 kg, 40 mg/kg, taken once, taken orally after meals, for three consecutive days. Other amoebiasis: Adults and children weighing more than 35 kg, 500 mg (2 tablets) each time, twice a day; children weighing less than 35 kg, 25 mg/kg, taken once, for 5-10 consecutive days. 3 Giardiasis: Adults and children weighing more than 35 kg, take 1500 mg (6 tablets) at night, take medicine for 1-2 days; children weighing less than 35 kg, 40 mg/kg, take it once, take medicine for 1-2 days. 4 Anaerobic infection: Prevention of postoperative infection: Oral 1500 mg (6 tablets) 12 hours before surgery, and then 500 mg (2 tablets) each time, twice a day, and take medicine until 3-5 days after surgery. Anaerobic infection: Adults and children weighing more than 35 kg, take 500 mg (2 tablets) each time, twice a day; children weighing less than 35 kg, 40 mg/kg, take it orally in two doses.

1 Mild side effects may include drowsiness, headache, gastrointestinal discomfort (including nausea and vomiting). 2 Some patients may experience central nervous system disorders: such as headache, tremor, rigidity, epileptic seizures, ataxia, fatigue, dizziness, temporary loss of consciousness or peripheral neuropathy. 3 Taste disorders, abnormal liver function and skin reactions.

Patients who are allergic to this product or nitroimidazole drugs are contraindicated.

Precautions for children: For children weighing more than 6kg, the dosage should be strictly in accordance with the doctor's prescription and the child's weight. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women should be cautious. Animal experimental studies have shown that this product has no teratogenic or fetotoxic effects, however, no controlled studies have been conducted in pregnant women, so unless absolutely necessary, it should be avoided in early pregnancy or lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: Reduce the dosage as directed by the doctor.

1. Ornidazole can enhance the effect of coumarin oral anticoagulants, so when the two are used at the same time, the dose of the anticoagulant should be adjusted. 2. Ornidazole can prolong the muscle relaxant effect of vecuronium bromide. 3. Cimetidine can accelerate the elimination of ornidazole, so cimetidine should be avoided when using ornidazole.
