Methylcobalamin Tablets
Function and Efficacy
This product is an endogenous coenzyme B12, which participates in the one-carbon unit cycle and plays an important role in the transmethylation reaction of methionine synthesis from homocysteine. Animal experiments have found that this product is easier to enter neuronal organelles than cyanocobalamin, participates in the synthesis of thymidine nucleoside in brain cells and spinal cord neurons, promotes the utilization of folic acid and nucleic acid metabolism, and has a stronger effect on promoting nucleic acid and protein synthesis than cyanocobalamin. This product can promote axonal transport function and axonal regeneration, normalize the transport of axonal skeleton proteins in the sciatic nerve of diabetic rats induced by streptozotocin, and has an inhibitory effect on drug-induced neurodegeneration, such as neurodegeneration caused by adriamycin, acrylamide, and vincristine, and neurological diseases in spontaneously hypertensive rats. In rat tissue culture, it was found that this product can promote lecithin synthesis and neuronal myelination. This product can restore delayed synaptic transmission and neurotransmitter reduction to normal, restore end plate potential induction by increasing nerve fiber excitability, and restore acetylcholine in the brain of rats fed with choline-deficient feed to normal levels.

Indication
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration. Usually adults take 1 tablet (0.5 mg) 3 times a day. The dosage can be increased or decreased according to age and symptoms.
Adverse Reactions
Among the total 15,180 cases, 146 cases (0.96%) had adverse reactions. (At the end of the survey of adverse reaction frequency) Gastrointestinal: Occasionally (5%-0.1%) loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; Allergy: Rare (<0.1%).
Precautions
It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to methylcobalamin or any of the excipients in the formulation.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Follow doctor's advice. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Although methylcobalamin did not show teratogenic effects in animal tests, its safety for pregnant women is still unclear. It is not clear whether methylcobalamin is secreted through women's breast milk, but animal tests report that methylcobalamin is secreted into breast milk. The safety of this product in lactating women is still unclear. Precautions for the elderly: Due to the decline in function of the elderly, it is recommended to reduce the dosage as appropriate under the guidance of a doctor.
