Rizatriptan benzoate capsules
Function and Efficacy
Pharmacological action Rizatriptan has a high affinity for cloned human 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D. It has a lower affinity for other 5-HT1 receptors and 5-HT7 receptors, and has no significant activity on 5-HT2, 5-HT3, adrenaline, DA, histamine, choline or BZ receptors. Rizatriptan stimulates the 5-HT1B/1D on the extracerebral and intracranial blood vessels and trigeminal nerve endings that dilate during migraine attacks, causing intracranial vasoconstriction and inhibiting the release and transmission of neuropeptides in the trigeminal nerve pain pathway, thereby exerting its therapeutic effect on migraine.

Because this product can increase blood pressure, it is contraindicated in patients with hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure. 4. It is contraindicated in patients with hemiplegia or basal migraine. 5. It is prohibited to take MAO inhibitors at the same time, and it is prohibited to take this product within two weeks of stopping MAO inhibitors. 6. It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to this product or any active ingredient. 7. Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: The safety and effectiveness of this drug have not been determined in pediatrics, so it is not recommended for patients under the age of 18. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Since there is no adequate and well-controlled research on pregnant women, it can only be used when the benefits to the fetus outweigh the risks; it is not clear whether the drug is secreted in breast milk, so lactating women should use it with caution. Precautions for the elderly: The pharmacokinetics of this product in the elderly (≥65 years old) are similar to those in adults, but the elderly rarely experience migraines, and the clinical experience of using this product in such patients is limited; the safety and effectiveness of this product in the treatment of senile autonomic neuropathy (mostly male patients) has not been determined. Therefore, elderly patients should use the drug with caution.
Drug Interactions
1 Since propranolol can increase the plasma concentration of this product by 70%, 5 mg of this product can be taken at the same time as propranolol. 2 Drugs containing ergot can prolong vasospastic reactions. Do not take drugs containing ergotamine or ergotamine-type drugs (such as dihydroergotamine, methysergide) at the same time within 24 hours of taking this product. 3 Other 5HT1 agonists can accumulate vasospastic effects. It is not recommended to take this product and other 5HT1 agonists together within 24 hours. 4 If there are clinical reasons to allow this product to be used in combination with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRLs), the patient should be closely observed. 5 No clinical or pharmacological interactions between the two were found after taking 10 mg of this product simultaneously with paroxetine. 6 This product cannot be used in combination with MAOA inhibitors or non-selective MAO inhibitors.
